I am Yu &

a research-driven UX designer

Hi there! My name is Yu /pronounce as 'you'/ and I am a grad student at HCII, Carnegie Mellon University. I am a research-driven user experience designer who dive deep into the problem space, make data- and empathy- driven design decisions to create meaningful experience for people.

I believe in design for social good. This summer, I am building a platform for people to find resources during quarantine @FightPandemics. I am also revamping the website and branding @SELA to promote awareness of social emotional learning.

I am actively looking for full-time UX design positions! Please feel free to contact me via email or LinkedIn!

My journey to UX

🧠   I studied Psychology as undergrad and found passion for applied research and product design.

👩🏻‍💻  I advocated for users in various internships and worked with awesome PMs, designers and engineers.

🧚‍♀️  Now I am learning from the awesome cohort at CMU.

💪  I bring the impact of user-centered design to various passion projects.

Things I love

I'm a big fan of Pixar, Disneyland and anything that is cute and fluffy. That list includes Husky (and other dogs), the Minions, Pikachu and the list goes on.
